crosswords

In our reading workshop, we were doing crosswords to advance our vocab. They really worked because now I know what an atoll is. Which is and sort of island with water in the centre of it  I found them fun because I enjoy doing crosswords. it was fun being able to work with whoever you want. I found it difficult to get some of the words but most of it was quite easy.

Inquiry

Our inquiry focus this term is sustainability so in reading, we decided to inquire more about it. We made a K.W.L which stands for what I Know what I Want to know and what I Learnt. I chose worm Farm, composting, plastics and Gizzy Kai rescue I really enjoyed colouring in the things and I found it tricky to find good questions.

This is the tesselation that we created collaboratively with our entire class. It's not completed yet. My lizard is pink, blue and green I am proud of the results because it looks great! Next time I will change the colours of mine and do different patterns on it because I think it would look better.

Netiquette, what is it?

The rubbish dump! Our school?!

One day when we arrived at school there was a huge pile of rubbish

outside of our assembly hall, we were shocked and sad that someone had done this to our school! It looked as if someone had used our school a dump we designed Emojis to describe how we felt, some did angry some did shock some did embarrassed and lots did upset. we learnt lots about recycling after that and went on a trip to the recycling centre.

The environment trip

On then 30th of July, the year 6 Learning Neighbourhood went on an environment trip to learn about the 3 'R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). We walked from our school to the Botanical gardens then to the library and at last the Enviro centre. We learnt about worm farms and what to feed them, composting and what good compost is and we learnt about Gizzy kai rescue and how they get the food. we went into the shop a learnt about lots of eco-friendly choices.
It was a fun day out and I really enjoyed going It made think of all the environment-friendly choices to make!
